Science Says
Ever wonder how much water you should drink? Hydration experts around the world say that women should drink at least 2 liters (a little more than 8 cups) and men at least 2.5 liters (that’s like 10½ cups) of fluids every day. But—there’s no “one size fits all” recommendation. Some people might need to drink more water than others. Do you spend time outside when it’s warm? Exercise? Sweat because of a medical condition? Then, you might need to drink more water. There’s an easy way to find out if you’re drinking enough water: Check the color of your pee! If your urine is dark (like apple juice or iced tea), it’s time to drink more water! If it’s clear or almost clear, then it’s ok to reduce your water intake for a bit. Your goal is for your pee to look like light-colored lemonade.
