janfeb2014

On Wednesday, November 6, 2013, IBWA participated in the local “Which Way L.A.?” segment of the national NPR radio show To The Point, hosted by KCRW‘s Warren Olney. The segment was related to the 100 year anniversary of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, celebrated this year.

IBWA’s vice president of communications, Chris Hogan, was part of a panel that encompassed a variety of viewpoints and we had a great discussion about the importance of the best drinking water.

We were also able to help educate listeners about the strict FDA regulations and how bottled water matters, that govern bottled water as a packaged food product, the national network of FDA and state health inspectors and regulators who ensure compliance with those federal standards, and the important role bottled water plays in leading a healthy lifestyle.

The panel also addressed other significant issues like recycling and consumers being able to choose water – bottled or tap – as a healthy alternative to high-calorie and sugary packaged beverages.
